John V. Lindsay East River Park—has just reopened with a dramatic makeover as part of the East Side Coastal Resiliency project.
🌉 Located along the East River near the Williamsburg and Manhattan Bridges, it's accessible via the new ADA-compliant Delancey Street pedestrian bridge, which connects directly from Delancey/Essex Street station.
🌳 The renovated park now features:
- Elevated green spaces (8–10 feet higher for flood protection)
- Basketball and tennis courts
- BBQ and picnic areas
- Nature exploration zones
- Over 600 newly planted trees and 21,000+ shrubs
